Location: Elks Crossing Phase 4.  Part of the SW1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 16, T1N, R8E, BHM, Rapid City, Pennington County, SD. 

Agenda Title:

Authorize Mayor and Finance Officer to Sign an Agreement between the City of Rapid City and SSST, LLC for Elks Crossing Phase 4 12” Water Main Oversize Cost Reimbursement, not to exceed $29,425.00.   

Summary:

An agreement for oversize cost reimbursement to SSST, LLC for the oversizing of approximately 660 linear feet of 8-inch water main to 12-inch water main located within the proposed Pahlmeyer Drive right-of-way in the SW1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 16, T1N, R8E, BHM, Rapid City, Pennington County, SD.  The proposed water main improvements are to be constructed as part of the Elks Crossing Phase 4 public infrastructure improvements.  The 12-inch water transmission main will allow future water main extension within the area in accordance with the City’s Utility System Master Plan.  Reimbursement for the Phase 4 improvements may be requested upon project completion and final acceptance by the City.  A request for reimbursement was included with the Water and Sanitary Sewer Report, dated September 1, 2015 and prepared by Dream Design International, Inc.  Final reimbursement payment shall be determined by actual installed costs of the improvements, and shall not exceed $29,425.00.

Recommendation:

Action: Choose an item. Approve oversize cost reimbursement and authorize Mayor and Finance Officer to sign agreement.

City Council Options:

1)    Deny request for reimbursement.

2)    Adjust requested reimbursement amount.
